Background
Art in Ethiopia is
a Finnish - Ethiopian NGO. We arrange various community based projects at Addis Abeba, Ethiopia Art in Ethiopia is a sister organization to Art in Tanzania operating in Tanzania and Zanzibar.
We need volunteers for various types of projects including educational projects in nursery, primary, secondary schools up to adult vocational training. We have several medical projects in hospitals as well as HIV projects, sports, music & art projects, orphanage projects etc.

Objectives
Our main objective is to enhance the livelihood
of the poor societies and to be part of the tasks to develop the performance of the schools.
Addis Abeba
Addis Ababa is the capital city of Ethiopia founded by Emperor Menelik in 1887. The famous locations in town are the Mercator, the largest open market in the Africa, the National Museum where 'Lucy', the 3.5million year old hominid, resides and the Ethnological Museum that exhibits the culture and arts of the Ethiopian ethnic groups. In Addis Abeba there are some 5 million inhabitants. People at Addis Abeba live peacefully and are very friendly towards foreigners. You manage well with English.
The cuisine is excellent and very cheap. You can enjoy local traditional food or to visit the countless high quality western and eastern restaurants around the town. Meanwhile your meals you can visit the numerous shopping areas and you find high quality clothing, leather, spices etc. Shopping is easy and enjoyable at Addis.

Accommodation is Ethiopia is at peaceful area at Addis Abeba in a luxurious large house (above). You have a walking distance to many placements and walking distance to shopping and dining areas as well. Moving in Addis it is easy to use very cheap taxis.
